Birmingham, AL -- The Golden Tigers fell to Miles College 23-52 in a game that saw the Tuskegee score first in the contest. Miles then took control of game as they led at halftime and easily won the game. Miles College will play Albany State in the SIAC Championship game next week and Tuskegee will prepare to play Alabama State in the Turkey Day Classic in Montgomery on Nov 25. |

The Golden Tigers defensive struggles continue in the 21-17 loss to Lane College. Tuskegee will host Kentucky State next week during Senior Day. |

Wilberforce, OH -- The Golden Tigers Football team notched a convincing shutout road win over Central State 29-0. Ivonte Patterson led the victory rushing for 100 yards on 22 carries. The win improves the GoldenTigers record to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the SIAC. Tuskegee (3-4) will face Lane College (4-3) this week during homecoming weekend. |

The Golden Tigers record drops to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the SIAC. Tuskegee will face Central State in Ohio this week on Saturday, Oct 16. |

Ogletree was a receiver for Tuskegee Football team during Coach Haywood Scissum reign and graduated Tuskegee in 1981. Ogletree was a native of Detroit by way of Las Vegas and was residing in Baltimore Maryland when he died. David was an accomplished musician and shared his gift on Facebook Live "Monday Inspirations". East Point, GA -- SGT Board of Directors unanimously voted to donate $3000 to the 2021 Tuskegee University President Essay and Awards Program. The one-time increase will fund additional awards in 2021. The award program occurs yearly in April to celebrate student academic achievement, but was cancelled in April 2020 because of the Coronavirus Pandemic. SGT has donated to the academic awards program since 2015. |

East Point, GA -- The Skegee Golden Tigers, Inc. (SGT) Board of Directors has decided to move the 2019 Homecoming Tailgate Fundraiser back on campus after hosting the event off campus in 2018. This year’s homecoming event will be hosted on the band field. SGT’s Site Committee Chair, Billy ‘BP” Pearson is pleased with the new location. BP emphasize the new location offers a level surface for our equipment and patrons. Also, the close proximity of stadium seating and restrooms offer some great advantages. Wiley hometown was Brundidge, AL and he played football with the Golden Tigers, where he served as a captain. Wiley earned his Bachelor degree from Tuskegee in 1976 and was inducted into the Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of fame in 2005. Wiley will be missed, but will never forgotten. Ron also graduated from Tuskegee University and played football with the Golden Tigers, where he served as a captain. Ron M. Gilmore, Sr. was a founding member of Skegee Golden Tigers, Inc. and served on the SGT Board of Directors. 'Captain Gil' will be missed, but will never forgotten. Rest In Peace Golden Boy. |

The Golden Tigers were led offensively by Hoderick Lowe, who was name SIAC Championship MVP. Lowe rushed for 124 yards and scored two touchdowns. The first big play was a 55 yard touchdown pass from TU Quarterback Jamarcus Ezell to Peyton Ramzy. The second play was a 46 yard interception that was returned for a touchdown by Jonah McCutcheon. A sellout crowd of 25,442 saw the Golden Tigers open their season with a big win. The Golden Tigers will play Alabany State this week in the Annual White Water Classic in Phenix City, Alabama. |

Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee special teams play against Virginia State was very dissapointing. The Trojans scored on a punt return and a kickoff return that was key in them defeating Tuskegee 45-35. With the loss, Tuskegee playoff hopes are dampened, but there is still hope that the Golden Tigers will get an invite to playoffs this Sunday when teams are selected. |

Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tigers suffered a heartbreaking 21-17 first round playoff loss to West GA. Tuskegee had key turnovers seconds before halftime that was key to game outcome. With West GA leading the game with less than a minute before halftime, the Golden Tigers drove to the West GA 1 yard line before committing a game changing turnover. Tuskegee continued to fight back in the second half, but additional turnovers doomed the Golden Tigers from getting the win. Tuskegee finish the season with a 9-3 overall mark and 2014 SIAC Football Champions. |

Tuskegee played even with WSSU in the first half with the score being knotted at 10. In the third quarter WSSU drove 82 yard and used a lot of clock to take the lead for good. Lakeland, FL -- The Golden Tigers Men Basketball team trailed Delta State early, but went on a 12-0 run in first half and coasted to a 80-59 victory. The win earned Golden Tigers advance to NCAA D2 Elite Eight. Tuskegee, seeded eight in the south earlier defeated #1 seed Florida Southern in first round play. The Golden Tigers followed their first round win with another win over North Alabama in second round. The Golden Tigers will travel to Evansville, Ind to continue their quest for the NCAA D2 Basketball Championship. Quarter Final games begin March 26. |

Tuskegee, AL -- The Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of Fame exhibit is now opened to the public for viewing. The exhibit was opened during the 2013 homecoming weekend with very little fanfare. (Click here to PREVIEW TUAHOF Exhibit) The exhibit highlights the many accomplishments of Tuskegee Athletics by decades. Also, the exhibit includes plaques that list names of the 269 student-athletes inducted into the TUAHOF since 1975. The TUAHOF exhibit is located on the second floor of historic Logan Hall on Tuskegee campus. The hours of operations are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., which coincides with staff hours. The exhibit is generally not available for viewing during the weekend. |

Cleveland, OH -- Tuskegee record dropped to 2-1 after a disappointing 13-35 loss to Winston Salem in the 2013 Cleveland Classic. The Golden Tigers lead 7-0 after a 59 yard run by Hoderick Lowe on the games first play from scrimmage, but both the offense and defense struggled the remainder of the game. The Golden Tiger men finished with a 13-4 conference record and the Tigerettes posted an impressive 16-0 record in regular season conference games. Belinda Roby of Tuskegee was named 2013 SIAC Women’s Coach of the Year and Tuskegee’s 6-7 forward Shaquille Cook was named 2013 SIAC Freshman of the Year (men). Senior guard Calvin Thomas was named to the men's All-SIAC team, and senior center Nnenna Eze was named to the women's all-conference team. Julius Taylor (3.77 GPA, Chemical Engineering) and Moriah Johnson (3.393, Occupational Therapy) were named to the men's All-Academic team and Jazlyn Fuller (3.506 GPA, Sociology) was named to the women's All-Academic team. Many of you may have met Mr. Crum when his son Kenneth (KC) Crum played quarterback at Tuskegee in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Mr. Crum resided in Greenville, Alabama and passed away prior to a surgical procedure that was scheduled Saturday at UAB Hospital. Please keep the Crum family in your thoughts and prayers. The 2012 Golden Tigers team will go down in history as recording the first score and first victory in ASU new $62 million stadium. Florence, AL -- Tuskegee's running back Derrick Washington has been named a finalist for the 2012 Harlon Hill Trophy awarded to the Most Outstanding football player in Division II. Washington is one of eight finalist selected from a field of 24 initial candidates. Atlanta, GA -- The 2012 SIAC All Conference Team was announced today. The SIAC Player of the year honor goes to Tuskegee's Derrick Washington. Washington averaged 139 yards rushing per game and scored 13 touchdowns for the year. Washington was also named SIAC Offensive Player of the Year. Also earning SIAC First Team honors from Tuskegee include offensive lineman Devonte Jones and Christopher Tolbert; running back Derrick Washington; linebacker Quavon Taylor; and defensive back William Buford. Atlanta, GA -- Two Atlanta police officers died in a helicopter crash last night at approximately 10:30pm. The ADP officers who lost lives were Richard J. Halford of Lithia Springs and Shawn A. Smiley of Lithonia. The offices were looking for a missing Atlanta child when their helicopter crashed. Richard J. Halford was a former Tuskegee Football Player and attended SGT Homecoming event in 2011, Rest in Peace Golden Boy. The SGT Family extends our condolences to the families of both ADP officers. |

Fairfield, AL -- Tuskegee's Derrick Washington rushed for 208 yard in the Golden Tigers 27-17 win over Miles College. The Golden Tigers clinched the West and will play Fort Valley in the SIAC Championship game. Fort Valley defeated Albany St 38-29 today to win the SIAC East spot in Championship game. The Golden Tigers defeated Ft Valley 18-49 on September 29 in Tuskegee. Tuskegee again took advantage of turnovers as William Buford intercepted a Stillman pass and ran it in for a touchdown. Tuskegee, AL -- The 2012 Sage Hall Tailgate Extravaganza will be held on the baseball field inside Cleve Abbott Alumni Bowl. The baseball field is located on the hill behind the student/home side of Alumni Bowl. This is the same location that we hosted our event last year in 2011. Billy (BP) Pearson, SGT Site Management Captain, visited available spaces, but recommended the baseball field again because of the convenient parking area and the large enough space to enjoy the homecoming experience with friends and family. SGT has secured the best available area to meet our goals in 2012. |

Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee has hired a new Sports Information Director, Michael Stewart. Stewart graduated from Langston in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism. Stewart served as Sports Information Director at his alma mata, Langston University in Oklahoma, and now join Tuskegee's New AD Patrick Simon, who also worked at Langston University. Stewart replaces Arnold Houston who retired this summer after serving Mother Tuskegee since 1985. |

Coach Abbott was one of eleven Inductees into the BCFHOF Class of 2012. Tuskegee's Ken Woodard was in attendance at the Induction Ceremony representing Skegee Golden Tigers (SGT). Woodard said that he was honored to be present at the historical event that recognizes HBCU Football. The Black College Hall of Fame mission is to preserve the legacy of HBCU Football. |
