East Point, GA -- With sadness, SGT announce the passing of Clifford "C-Brown" Brown. "C-Brown", Golden Boy #95, was a on the 1974 Tuskegee Institute Golden Tigers Football Team that won the Gate City Bowl. ‘C Brown” was recruited by legendary Golden Tiger Coach Haywood Scissum out of Carver High School (Atlanta, GA).

After playing the 1972-1975 seasons at Tuskegee,  "C-Brown" was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 16th round - 436th player selected overall.

He also signed with the Green Bay Packers (NFL) and played for the Birmingham Vulcans (WFL). "C-Brown" was a defensive lineman.

"C-Brown" resided in Birmingham, Alabama when he passed away on May 1, 2020.

East Point, GA -- Skegee Golden Tigers, Inc.(SGT) announce the estabishment of the SGT Memorial Football Endowment Scholarship to benefit student-athletes at Tuskegee University.

The endowment sholarship, a Legacy to Golden Tigers Football Alumni, was funded with $25,000 that was raised thru donations and fundraisers coordinated by SGT Board of Directors.

SGT current board of directores are: Willie Chavers (President), Eugene Vickers, Sr.(Vice President), Roosevelt Jordan (Secretary) Joe Eatman (Treasurer) Tim Mays (Seargent at Arms), Leonard G. The Golden Tigers ended their 2019 with a homecoming loss to Miles College 6-20. The lost dropped Tuskegee record to a disappointing 5-5 season.


East Point, GA -- SGT's Board votes to setup $25K Scholarship Endowment at Tuskegee

The Skegee Golden Tigers, Inc. Board of Directors met on November 8th in Tuskegee for their annual meeting. During the meeting the board unanimously approved the establishment of a $25K Scholarship Endowment at Tuskegee.

The endowment scholarship represents SGT's permanent investment in student-athlete education assistance at Tuskegee University.


Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee hires Benji Taylor as head coach of Mens Basketball

Tuskegee University has announced the hiring of Benji Taylor as new Mens Basketball Head Coach.

Taylor, who has coached at several NCAA Division I institutions, becomes the 17th head coach in the university's history. (read more)


Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of Fame (TUAHOF) will induct eleven alumni during 2019 Induction Weekend festivities. The eleven inductees are: – DR. CHARLES H. THOMPSON, MR. ROBERT 'COCHISE' WATKINS (SGT), MR. RENDER COPELAND (SGT), PASTOR ARTHUR L. JACKSON (SGT), DR. ELIZABETH 'DIANE SMART' THOMAS (SGT0, MR. WILLIE H. LAMPLEY (SGT), DR. SIDNEY L. BROWN, MR. BRUCE L. JOHNSON, DR. STEPHANIE DAVIS, MR. JONATHAN PORTER and MR. KENNETH E. WOODARD (SGT).

SGT is well representative in the 2019 Class with 6 of the 11 Inductees being SGT supporters.

The 11 former student athletes will be honored at the 26th Enshrinement banquet on Friday, Sept 20 at 6pm in the Kellogg Conference Center Ballroom. The festivities continue on Saturday, Sept 21 @ 12:30pm when the 2019 Class will be recognized during the Hall of Fame Football game between Tuskegee and Winston Salem in Alumni Bowl at 12:30pm.

East Point, GA -- The Skegee Golden Tigers, Inc. (SGT) Board of Directors has decided to move the 2019 Homecoming Tailgate Fundraiser back on campus after hosting the event off campus in 2018.

This year’s homecoming event will be hosted on the band field.

SGT’s Site Committee Chair, Billy ‘BP” Pearson is pleased with the new location. BP emphasize the new location offers a level surface for our equipment and patrons. Also, the close proximity of stadium seating and restrooms offer some great advantages.

SGT invite Tuskegee supporters to join us during Homecoming 2019 (Nov 9th). Sponsorships and individual tickets may be purchased starting September 1st.


East Point, GA -- Home-going Services for Mr. Alphonsa L (Bonzie) Butler was held on June 29th in Espanola, Florida, he pass away on June 20, 2019.

Butler attended Tuskegee in the 70’s and played running back under Coach Haywood Scissum. RIP Golden Tiger. #GoldenBoyForever #SGTFamily


Tuskegee, AL -- Golden Boy Ken Woodard received his Bachelor degree from Tuskegee University long after playing for the Golden Tigers from 1979-1982.

Woodard played and retired from the National Football League (NFL) before finishing up his degree from Tuskegee, Class of 2019.

Valley, AL -- Skegee Golden Tigers (SGT) Family gathered in Valley, Alabama to pay tribute to Golden Boy Tyron Dozier. SGT Family was joined by the Dozier family for a graveside tribute followed by a luncheon.

Representing the Dozier Family at the tribute and luncheon was Alice Shorter (sister), Tommy Dozier (brother), Yolandrias Thomas (daughter), Tyrone Dozier's son and a host of other family members.

The SGT Family represented was Leonard G. Lewis, Tyrone Kelly, Ira Ritter, Billy Pearson, Joe Eatman, Rock Carter, Barry Robinson, Mike Crayton, Ricky Austin, Don McQuarry.

East Point, GA -- Tyrone "Butch" Dozier died on January 19, 2019 in Alabama.  Dozier was a top linebacker for Tuskegee in the late 1970's and was residing in Alabama.

East Point, GA -- Tuskegee University Athletics released the 2019 Golden Tigers Football Schedule with homecoming scheduled for Nov. 9 against Miles College.  The Golden Tigers open the season playing Alabama State on Sept 7 in Montgomery.

East Point, GA -- The SGT Memorial Football Scholarship Fund is now over $19,000.00 with 2018 donations totaling $5,352.00. 

SGT utilize the scholarship fund to provide scholarships to student athletes at Tuskegee.

The scholarship fund will be converted to an endowment fund when $25, 000.00 is raised.

East Point, GA -- Danny Swoops, Golden Tiger Football Alumni passed on December  29, 2019.

Swoops was a wide receiver for Tuskegee on the 1979 team and 1980. Swoops was residing in his hometown of Birmingham, AL when he died.

Fort Valley, GA -- The Golden Tigers earned their fourth win of the season with a 17-6 win over Fort Valley. The bounce back win was led by Kenny Gant and Justice Owen on offense and Kalil Gray and Ricky Norris on defense.

The game attendence was 4,489.

Tuskegee will host Kentucky State next week during Homecoming 2018.


Columbus, GA -- Tuskegee battle Morehouse for four quarters and three overtimnes, but was defeated 24-30 in the Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic. The win by Morhouse was the first win in more than 10 years

The game attendence was 27,563.

Tuskegee will play Fort Valley next week in Fort Valley.


Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee bounced back at home this week with a 17-8 win over Lane College.

The game attendence was 9,335 during the 2018 Tuskegee University Hall of Fame Game and Open House weekend on campus.

Tuskegee will play Morehouse College next week in Columbus.


Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tigers suffered a 7-16 loss in their home opener against Missouri S & T

The game attendence was 4,517.

Tuskegee will play Lane College at home this weekend in the Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of Fame Game.


Atlanta, GA -- Tuskegee was able to scratch out a 24-17 win over Clark Atlanta playing their second string quarterback. The starting quarterback was injured in the Albany State game.

The game attendence was 5046.

Tuskegee will host it's home opener on Saturday against Missouri S&T.


Phenix City, AL -- Tuskegee posted its first win on the season with a 20-0 win ober Albany State.

Tuskegee will travel to Atlanta this week to face Clark-Atlanta at 6pm ET.


Montgomery, AL -- The Golden Tigers had several turnovers and penalties that they could not overcome as they went down to Alabama State 26-20 in the Second Annual Labor Day Classic.

ASU won the game in overtime, game attendance was 26,222. (read more)

East Point, GA -- SGT with heavy heart inform SGT Family of the passing of Wiley Lucas on May 2, 2018. Wiley hometown was Brundidge, AL and he played football with the Golden Tigers, where he served as a captain.

Wiley earned his Bachelor degree from Tuskegee in 1976 and was inducted into the Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of fame in 2005.

Wiley will be missed, but will never forgotten. Rest In Peace Golden Boy.

The recipients of the SGT Scholarships were Bryceden Jones, Tyrez McCain, Kevin Lomax.Students.

Ron also graduated from Tuskegee University and played football with the Golden Tigers, where he served as a captain.

Ron M. Gilmore, Sr. was a founding member of Skegee Golden Tigers, Inc. and served on the SGT Board of Directors.

Fort Valley, GA -- Tuskegee defense dominates as Golden Tigers wins 2017 SIAC Football Championship over Fort Valley 13-6.

The Golden Tigers were led offensively by Hoderick Lowe, who was name SIAC Championship MVP. Lowe rushed for 124 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Tuskegee finish the season with a 9-2 record and 2017 SIAC Football Champions.


Frankfort, KY -- Tuskegee revenged a 2016 Homecoming loss today at Kentucky State's 2017 homecoming with a 26-21 win.

The Golden Tigers improve to 6-2 headed into their homecoming next week against Central State.


Mobile, AL -- Tuskegee would never trail after scoring first in the 5th Qtr Classic in Mobile. The Golden Tigers cruised to a 33-7 win over the winless Tigers of Jackson State.


East Point, GA -- The Golden Tigers improved to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play after an exciting 23-17 overtime win over Morehouse in the 82nd Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic. Led by quarterback Jamarcus Ezell and freshman runningback Phillip Brown, Tuskegee overcame a fourth quarter deficit to post an exciting overtime win.

Tuskegee travels to Mobile next week to face Jackson State in the 5th Qtr Classic.


East Point, GA -- Tuskegee scored a touchdown in each quarter to defeat Lane College 28-23 in an away game. The Golden Tigers were lead by Hoderick Lowe and Jamarcus Ezell on offense. Defensively Osband Thomas and Davoris Thomas led the way in a very close game with 11 tackles each.

Montgomery, AL -- Tuskegee took advantage of two huge plays to defeat Alabama State in the 2017 Labor Day Classic in Montgomery.

The first big play was a 55 yard touchdown pass from TU Quarterback Jamarcus Ezell to Peyton Ramzy. The second play was a 46 yard interception that was returned for a touchdown by Jonah McCutcheon.

A sellout crowd of 25,442 saw the Golden Tigers open their season with a big win. The Golden Tigers will play Alabany State this week in the Annual White Water Classic in Phenix City, Alabama.


Tuskegee, AL -- Skegee Golden Tigers, Inc. (SGT) would like to announce the 7th Annual SGT Homemcoming Tailgate Extravaganza Scholarship Fundraiser on October 28, 2017 in Alumni Bowl.

SGT is comprised of former Golden Tigers Football players and supporters who fund scholarship for student athletes at Tuskegee.

The homecoming tailgate is SGT largest fundraiser of the year. SGT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Tuskegee, AL -- Jasher Cox has been hired as Sports Information Director at Tuskegee. Cox brings over 18 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics to the department. Cox is originally from Tuskegee area and a graduate of Auburn University.

Tuskegee, AL -- Skegee Golden Tigers, Inc. (SGT) has added a book scholarships to its program offerings. The expansion of our programs to student-athletes will began this fall (2017) with two book scholarships of $250 each. The two book scholarships will be available to student athlete at Tuskegee selected by the academic advisors of the Athletic Department.

Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee University Athletics released the Golden Tigers 2017 Football Schedule today with ten games on tap. 

The Golden Tigers open the season Labor Day weekend playing Alabama State in Montgomery on Sep 2 and travel to Mobile to play Jackson State University on Oct 14th.


North Greenville, SC  -- The Golden Tigers were not able to overcome early turnovers and lost to North Greenville 45-26 in the second round of the 2016 NCAA DII Football Championship Playoffs.

Tuskegee ends their football season with a 9-3 overall record.


Newberry, SC  -- The Golden Tigers outscored Newberry 35-33 to advance to the 2nd Round of the NCAA DII Football Playoffs.

The Golden Tigers were led offensively by Kevin Lacey, SIAC Offensive Player of the Year. Defensively Osband Thompson, SIAC Defensive Player of the Year, led the Tuskegee defense.

Tuskegee (7)  will play North Greenville (6) in their second round matchup in South Carolina.


Tuskegee, AL  -- Tuskegee has been selected to play in the 2016 Division II Football Playoffs. The Golden Tigers will travel to South Carolina to take on the Newberry Wolves in first round action this Saturday at 1 pm.

Newberry (10-1) is the #2 seed and Tuskegee (8-2) is #6 seed in their region.


Tuskegee, AL  -- Tuskegee special teams play against Virginia State was very dissapointing. The Trojans scored on a punt return and a kickoff return that was key in them defeating Tuskegee 45-35.

With the loss, Tuskegee playoff hopes are dampened, but there is still hope that the Golden Tigers will get an invite to playoffs this Sunday when teams are selected.


Tuskegee, AL  -- Tuskegee Athletics has reached an agreement with Virginia State (8-2) to play on November 12th, Saturday in Tuskegee at Noon.

The Golden Tigers must win the game to bolster their playoff hopes.


Tuskegee, AL  -- Albany State, looser of Fountain City Classic, has decided not to play Tuskegee in remmatch that would have allowed Tuskegee to qualify for playoffs.

Also, TU Athletics announced NCAA has denied waiver that would allow Tuskegee to qualify for playoffs with just 9 games played.

TU Athletic Director continue his search for D2 team to play this Saturday to get 10th game, which would qualify the Golden Tigers for the playoffs.


Birmingham, AL  -- Tuskegee overcame a forth Quarter deficit with a game winning drive to defeat Miles College 13-10 in Birmingham's Legion Field.

The Golden Tigers hope to play the looser of the game between Fort Valley and Albany State next Saturday to qualify for playoffs with 10 games.


Wiberforce, OH  -- The Golden Tigers bouced back this week with a 42-14 win over Central State University 42-14 on the road.

The Golden Tigers improve to 7-1 and will play Miles College in their final regular season game on Nov 5th in Birmingham's Legion Field.


Tuskegee, AL  -- Tuskegee special teams could have saved the day for Tuskegee, but allowing KSU to block a PAT and a short field goal led to a heartbreaking 10-9 loss.

The Golden Tigers (6-1) and will travel to Central State to play next Saturday.


Columbus, GA  -- The Golden Tigers play thru 3 quarters in the Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic had fans wondering if Tuskegee could hold on to a 21-19. But. TU rallied in the fourth with a TD to lead 28-19 and the defense shutdown Morehaouse to preserve a 28-19 win.

The Golden Tigers remain undefeated (6-0) and will enjoy a week off before taking on Kentucky State during homecomiing 2016.


Tuskegee, AL  -- Tuskegee overcame a 16-0 deficit in the 4th quarter to defeat UNC Pembroke 20-16 in Alumni Bowl.  The Golden Tigers offense and defense had an outstatnding 4th quarter to get their 5th win of the season and remain undefeated.

The Golden Tigers will face Morehouse College in Columbus GA next week.


Tuskegee, AL  -- The Golden Tigers defeated Lane 38-7 in their home opener. Tuskegee defense held Lane to 152 total yards while racking up 370 total yards. read more

Mobile, AL  -- After a 20-year hiatus, the 5th Quarter Classic proved to be worth the wait as the 13th-ranked Tuskegee University Golden Tigers scored with just over two minutes to play, coming from behind for a 20-17 victory over FCS-member Florida A&M University on a rainy Saturday night at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. read more

Phenix City, AL  -- The Golden Tigers used a strong second half performance to get their second win of the season against Albany State. After a tight first half, Tuskegee capitalized on ASU turnovers and some long scoring drives to post a 28-18 win (read more).

The Golden Tigers travel to Mobile, AL this week to face FAMU @ 6PM in the 5th Quarter Classic.


Atlanta, GA  -- Tuskegee won their 2016 football season opener 36-13 over Clark Atlanta. The Golden Tigers broke the game open in second half with a second half opening scoring drive and a subsequent interception returned for another TD.

The Golden Tigers play Albany State University next week in the White Water Classic in Phenix City, AL.

Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee University Athletics released the Golden Tigers 2016 Football Schedule today with nine games on tap.  Homecoming 2016 is slated for October 22 against Kentucky State and the Golden Tigers will travel to Mobile for a September 17th matchup with the Rattlers of Florida A&M.

Red Oak, GA -- Tuskegee could not overcome crucial turnovers and sufferd a 35-6 loss to #1 seed University of West Georgia. The loss knock the Golden Tigers out of the 2015 D2 Football Playoffs, but the team made history by advancing to the third round, which is the highest round Tuskegee has every advance in its 3 year playoff history.

Red Oak, GA -- The Golden Tigers rallied in the final minutes of the second round playoff game to defeat University of North Alabama 35-31 (game recap).

With the victory, the Golden Tigers won their first ever playoff game and will next play North Alabama in Florence, Alabama on Nov 28.

Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tigers suffered a tough 26-23 loss (game recap) to Miles during homecoming 2015. The lost knocked Tuskegee out of contention for the SIAC Championship Game.

The Golden Tigers finish the season with a 8-2 record and must wait to see if they qualify for DII Playoffs, which begin on Nov 21st.


Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tigers defeated Central State 19-7 to get their fourth conference win of the year. Jewell Ratliff led the way in second half with a pick six to give Tuskegee the lead and win (game recap).

The Golden Tigers (8-1, 4-0) will face Miles College(5-4, 4-0) next week for the SIAC West title.


Frankfort, KY -- Tuskegee defeats Kentucky State 38-28 on the road and improves to 3-0 in the SIAC and 7-1 overall (game recap).

The Golden Tigers return home to play Central State on October 31st for another conference game.

Columbus, GA -- Tuskegee overpowered Morehouse 35-7 in the 80th Annual Tuskegee Morehouse Classic. The Golden Tigers scored 35 points in the first half and held Morehouse scoreless until late in the third quarter to get their fifth win of the season.. (game recap)

Tuskegee (5-1) will play return home next play to face Stillman College in a conference game.


Pembroke, NC -- Tuskegee suffered its first loss of the season to UNC Pembroke 17-29.

The Golden Tigers overcame a first half deficit to take a 17-16 lead with 10 minutes left in 4th quarter, but was unable to stop UNCP from scoring 2 more times late in the final minutes of the game.

Jackson, TN -- Tuskegee defeated Lane 34-14 to get their first conference win of the season and remain undefeated at 4-0. The game started with both teams committing multiple turnovers, but the Golden Tigers made the adjustments to get the win.

Tuskegee (4-0) will play UNC Pembroke (3-0) next week in North Carolina.


Phenix City, AL -- The Golden Tigers defense came up with huge plays in the 27-14 win over Albany State in the Second Annual White Water Classic.

Tuskegee led the game 20-14 with less than a minute to play and Albany State driving, but then Tuskegee's Ricky Norris intercepted a pass and returned it 95 yard for a touchdown to seal the victory.

Next up for the Golden Tigers (2-0) is Winston Salem State (0-2) on Saturday Sept 19 at 1pm in Tuskegee.


Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee defeated Clark Atlanta 26-0 in the season opener for the Golden Tigers.

The SGT Steering Board enjoyed some tailgating inside Alumni Bowl while cheering the Golden Tigers to a their first win of the season. The Golden Tiger defense was major in the win with 3 interceptions.

Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tigers suffered a heartbreaking 21-17 first round playoff loss to West GA. Tuskegee had key turnovers seconds before halftime that was key to game outcome.

With West GA leading the game with less than a minute before halftime, the Golden Tigers drove to the West GA 1 yard line before committing a game changing turnover. Tuskegee continued to fight back in the second half, but additional turnovers doomed the Golden Tigers from getting the win.

Tuskegee finish the season with a 9-3 overall mark and 2014 SIAC Football Champions.

Montgomery, AL -- Tuskegee defeated Albany State 47-41 to win the 2014 SIAC Football Championship

Tuskegee trailed with less than 2 minutes to play, but Jason Nared lead the Tuskegee Offense on a game winning scoring drive that sealed the win.

Congrats to the SIAC Champs who expect an invitation to play in the 2014 NCAA Football Playoff. If invited, Tuskegee would host the first ever playoff game in "THE BOWL" on November 22.


Fairfield, AL -- The Golden Tigers exploded in the second half of game for a 48-33 victory overt Miles College. The victory gives Tuskegee the best conference record in SIAC West Division.

Tuskegee (West) will meet Albany State (East) next Saturday for the 2014 SIAC Championship Game in Montgomery, Alabama.


Wiberforce, OH -- Tuskegee escaped with a 28-25 victory over Central State, who is coach by Golden Boy Cedric Pearl.

Pearl team came to battle the Golden Tigers, but failed to remain undefeated at home as Tuskegee handed them their first home loss.

The Golden Tigers (7-2) will next face Miles College in Birmingham and could punch their ticket to the 2014 SIAC Championship Game in the Gump!


Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tigers defeated Kentucky State University 38-9 in front of a homecoming crowd of 31,756.

The Golden Tigers overall record improve to 6-2 and they are 5-0 in conference play.

Tuscaloosa, AL -- Tuskegee took control of the SIAC West after pounding Stillman 61-19. Stillman College, who led the SIAC West prior to the game, was out played by the Golden Tigers. Tuskegee had more than 480 yard of total offense.

COLUMBUS, GA -- After a first quarter with no scores, it looked like the Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic might be a battle befitting of two of the unbeaten teams in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (read details). Then Tuskegee decided to kick it into high gear to racked up 434 yards of total offense in the 49-0 victory.

The Golden Tiger remain unbeaten in the conference play with a 3-0 record .

Tuskegee next play Stillman College in another battle of teams that are undefeated in conference play.


Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee charged back to defeat Fort Valley 35-28 in a key SIAC matchup. The Golden Tigers trailed at the half, but scored 21 points in the third quarter to take the lead for good.

The 21 points scored in third quarter involved a 89 yard kickoff return,; a 42 yard interception return for a TD and a Golden Tigers 11 play 63 yard TD drive.  (read more)

Tuskegee next play Morehouse College in the 79TH ANNUAL TUSKEGEE-MOREHOUSE CLASSIC in Columbus, GA at 5:00pm.


Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee led Lane 30-3 at halftime with Roderick Lowe leading the Golden Tigers with 125 yards rushing on 8 carries.  Lowe began the scoring onslaught with a 64 yard TD run as Tuskegee cruised to a 44-3 victory. Tuskegee offense finished the game with more than 270 yards rushing.

The Golden Tigers overall record improves to 2-2 and they are 1-0 in the SIAC Conference.

Tuskegee will face Fort Valley next week (10/4) at home in another big conference game at 1 pm.


Winston Salem, NC -- The Golden Tigers lost a heartbreaker to Winston Salem State 24-13 in their first road game of the 2014 season. Tuskegee played even with WSSU in the first half with the score being knotted at 10.

In the third quarter WSSU drove 82 yard and used a lot of clock to take the lead for good. Tuskegee threaten late in the game, but was unable to overcome the WSSU lead. 

The Golden Tigers record falls to 1-2 as they open SIAC conference play at home against Lane College this Saturday (9/27).

Phenix City, AL -- Led by Sophomore Quarterback Kevin Lacey, Tuskegee defeated Albany State 20-12 to win the inaugural White Water Classic in Phenix City Alabama.

The Golden Tigers scored 17 unanswered points in the third quarter after trailing Albany State 7-3 at halftime. Lacey led the second half charge passing for 137 yards with one touchdown. With the victory, the Golden Tigers improve their record to 1-1.

Tuskegee will face Winston Salem State in their next game on Sept 20 in North Carolina.


Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tigers lost their 2014 Season Opener 30-17 to Alabama A&M.

AAMU jumped out to 7-0 lead with 7:23 left in 1st quarter and never trailed. Jared Nared led the Golden Tigers with more than 200 passing yards.

Tuskegee next game will be in Phenix City, Alabama on September 13th against Albany St.




Tuskegee, AL -- Alice Coachman-Davis, a Tuskegee student athlete and gold medal winner in the 1948 Olympics, passed away today at the age of 90 in Albany, Georgia.

Coachman holds the distinction of being the first African American women to win an Olympic Gold Medal. Rest In Peace fellow Golden Tiger.

Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee's Women Softball Team was invited to play in the NCAA Regionals after winning the SIAC Tournament Championship.

The Golden Tiger began region play by defeating the top seeded Chargers of the University of Alabama in Huntsville 7-5.

In the next round; Tuskegee played Rollins College, but was defeated 5-1.

The historic run came to an end when Tuskegee lost 12-3 to University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Tuskegee, AL -- Dr. Brian Johnson has been selected by the Board of Trustees to become the seventh president of Tuskegee University.

Dr. Johnson, 40 years old,  is currently the Interim Vice President for Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness and Assistant Provost/Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee-Morhouse Classic, the longest running rivalry in all of black college football will remain in Columbus, Georgia.

Organizers reached an agreement that will keep the game in Columbus for at least one more year.


Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tiger Football Team completed spring training with an inner-squad game that featured two teams selected by quarterbacks Jason Nared and Kevin Lacey.

Tuskegee, AL -- LaMonica Scott has been named SID at Tuskegee and becomes the the first female to hold this post at Tuskegee.

Scott served as assistant SID a Grambling State University. She is a 2008 graduate of Mississippi Valley and  earned a Master of Science degree in Sport Administration from Grambling in 2008.


Red Oaks, GA -- The Skegee Golden Tiger family express our condolences to the family of Robert Anthony Jeter. Jeter, a Golden Boy, passes away on April 5 in Auburn Alabama.

Jeter played football at Tuskegee University and graduated in 1991.

Public Visitation will be Friday, April 11 from noon until 7 p.m. at Peterson and Williams Funeral Home in Opelika.

Jeter's homegoing is scheduled for Saturday, April 12 at the Auburn High School gym at 2 p.m., with burial at a nearby cemetery.

Tuskegee, AL --Tuskegee Men Basketball Team ended the season with a 21-12 overall record, an SIAC West Division championship, an SIAC Tournament championship, an NCAA South Regional Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite 8 National Finals.

Lakeland, FL -- The Golden Tigers Men Basketball team trailed Delta State early, but went on a 12-0 run in first half and coasted to a 80-59 victory. The win earned Golden Tigers advance to NCAA D2 Elite Eight.

Tuskegee, seeded eight in the south earlier defeated #1 seed Florida Southern in first round play. The Golden Tigers followed their first round win with another win over North Alabama in second round.

The Golden Tigers will travel to Evansville, Ind to continue their quest for the NCAA D2 Basketball Championship. Quarter Final games begin March 26.


Montgomery, AL -- Alabama State University announces that they are moving Turkey Day Classic off of Thanksgiving Day.

The game will be played on Saturday, November 22, 2014, the Saturday before Thanksgiving and will match ASU against Stillman College. Read more.

Tuskegee, AL -- The Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of Fame exhibit is now opened to the public for viewing. The exhibit was opened during the 2013 homecoming weekend with very little fanfare. (Click here to PREVIEW TUAHOF Exhibit)

The exhibit highlights the many accomplishments of Tuskegee Athletics by decades. Also, the exhibit includes plaques that list names of the 269 student-athletes inducted into the TUAHOF since 1975.

The TUAHOF exhibit is located on the second floor of historic Logan Hall on Tuskegee campus. The hours of operations are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., which coincides with staff hours. The exhibit is generally not available for viewing during the weekend.

Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee offensive lineman Matthew Reese (#62) was named to the American Football Coaches Association Division II All-America team, while fellow offensive lineman Christopher Tolbert (#74) was named to the Sheridan Broadcasting Networks Black College All-America team.

Red Oak, GA -- SGT remembers James Carter who passed away December 2013. Carter, a 1970 Tuskegee graduate, played defensive back for the Golden Tigers football team from 1966-69 was inducted into the Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.

Carter was one of the founders of the Tuskegee University National Athletics Association.

Carter was a native of Columbus, Georgia.


Tuskegee, AL -- The Tuskegee Athletics Department released the 2014 Tuskegee Football Schedule today. The schedule include 5 home games including the season opener against Alabama A&M on September 9.

Homecoming 2014 will be on October 25 as the Golden Tigers play Kentucky State University.  Auburn University also has a game on October 25, so lodging is expected to be scarce in the Tuskegee-Auburn vicinity.


Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tigers Men basketball team defeated Morehouse College 77-66 in a National Televised game on CBS TV.

The Golden Tigers lead the game from start to finish to the delight of Tuskegee supporters. Also, the Tuskegee National Athletics Assoc. provided prize giveaways throughout the game. With the victory, Tuskegee record improves to 4-5.


Tuskegee, AL -- The Golden Tigers Men basketball will play Morehouse College in a National Televised game on Jan 4 in Tuskegee Alabama. The Saturday game will be played at the Chappie James Center on the campus of historic Tuskegee University.

With the win, Miles College was crowned SIAC West Champions and will play in SIAC Championship Game on November 16, 2013.

Tuskegee sprinted to s 27-10 halftime lead in front of a homecoming crowd of 27,500 .

Lewis is a 1981 Tuskegee graduate that played offensive guard on the Golden Tiger Football team under Coach Haywood Scissum

Columbus, GA -- The Golden Tigers posted an easy 55-10 win over Morehouse College in the 78th Annual Tuskegee - Morehouse Classic.

The Golden Tigers lead 33-3 at halftime and coasted to their fifth win of the year.

Tuskegee will play Stillman College next week in their first home game of the season.


Fort Valley, GA -- Tuskegee won its fourth game on the road by holding off Fort Valley 21-13.

The Golden Tigers lead 21-7 going into the fourth quarter, but a long drive by the Wildcats narrowed the score to 21-13.

Justin Nared, Tuskegee's starting quarterback, was injured during the game and may miss next week game against Morehouse College.


Jackson, TN -- Tuskegee offense pounded Lane College with over 500 yards of total offense in a 42-14 victory.

The half-time score was 15-14, but the Golden Tigers scored 27 unanswered points in the second half to get their first SIAC conference win.

Cleveland, OH -- Tuskegee record dropped to 2-1 after a disappointing 13-35 loss to Winston Salem in the 2013 Cleveland Classic.

The Golden Tigers lead 7-0 after a 59 yard run by Hoderick Lowe on the games first play from scrimmage, but both the offense and defense struggled the remainder of the game.

Nevertheless, SGT Board Members attending game (Turner, Chavers and Burgess) had a great time supporting Tuskegee with other TU Alumni (click to view photo album). The game attendance was 5,008.

Tuskegee will next play Lane College in Jackson, TN on next Saturday at 2 pm cst.


Albany, GA -- Tuskegee defeated Albany St. 19-16 to improved their record to 2-0 in the 2013 season.

The Golden Tigers took the lead in the fourth quarter when Hoderick Lowe scores on a 8 yard TD run.

Huntsville, AL -- Tuskegee open its 2013 Football Season with 23-7 WIN over Alabama A&M. The Golden Tigers scored first and lead the entire game. The Tuskegee defense played an outstanding game, particularly the linebackers. The offense was also effective against the Bulldog team that defeated Grambling last week. Atlanta, GA -- Tuskegee was chosen by the SIAC coaches and sports information directors to repeat as SIAC champion for the 2013 season at the SIAC Kickoff Luncheon.

The Golden Tigers had over a dozen players who were named to the first-team and second-team All-SIAC Pre-Season squads, with red-shirt sophomore linebacker Quavon Taylor and offensive linemen Devonte Jones and Chris Tolbert making the first-team.

The Golden Tigers 2013 season schedule opens against Alabama A&M in Huntsville on September 7th at 6 p.m.

Atlanta, GA --The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAC) has announced that the 2013 SIAC Football Kickoff Luncheon is scheduled for August 6, 2013 in Atlanta.

Tuskegee, AL --Tuskegee Athletic Dept. retire Football jerseys #5 and #29 - Drayton Florence and Frank Walker were honored as the first two football players in the history of Tuskegee Athletics to get their numbers retired by the department.

Jersey #5 was retired for Walker and Jersey #29 was retired for Florence during the 2013 awards banquet held on April 23rd.

Tuskegee, AL -- Interim AD Named - Leon Douglas, Tuskegee’s Head Men's Basketball Coach and former NBA player, was appointed Interim Athletic Director at Tuskegee on April 21, 2013. Douglas received his B.S. in Social Work from the University of Alabama in 1976. Douglas, an Alabama native, has been at Tuskegee since being named head basketball coach in 2006.

The list of 2013 inductees will be announced after Tuskegee Board of Directors has approved the selection. Tuskegee, AL -- (2013 Football Schedule) Tuskegee has released their 2013 Football Schedule with the season opener in Huntsville Alabama against the Alabama AM Bulldogs.

The Golden Tigers will play 10 games in 2013, but missing from the schedule will be the traditional Turkey Day Classic matching Tuskegee and Alabama State, Tuskegee will not be participating in the game this year.

The Golden Tigers will celebrate Homecoming 2013 on Saturday, November 2 when they play Central State University.

Atlanta, GA -- (TU Basketball Season Recap) The Golden Tiger men and the Tigerettes had an outstanding 2012-2013 Season. The Golden Tiger men finished with a 13-4 conference record and the Tigerettes posted an impressive 16-0 record in regular season conference games.

Belinda Roby of Tuskegee was named 2013 SIAC Women’s Coach of the Year and Tuskegee’s 6-7 forward Shaquille Cook was named 2013 SIAC Freshman of the Year (men).

Senior guard Calvin Thomas was named to the men's All-SIAC team, and senior center Nnenna Eze was named to the women's all-conference team.

Julius Taylor (3.77 GPA, Chemical Engineering) and Moriah Johnson (3.393, Occupational Therapy) were named to the men's All-Academic team and Jazlyn Fuller (3.506 GPA, Sociology) was named to the women's All-Academic team.

Tuskegee was named the Men All-Academic Team.

Atlanta, GA -- Tuskegee's Christopher Tolbert was named to 2012 Sheridan Broadcasting Network (SBN) Black College All-American Team. Tolbert is a 6-5 290 pounds Junior offensive tackle from Birmingham helped lead Tuskegee to a 10-2 record in 2012.

The award was presented at The SBN All-American Brunch which was held in conjunction with the Black College Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Atlanta on February 16.

Coach Slater indicated he graded the class a C-plus thus far, but he is still waiting on a couple of defensive players who have yet to sign commitment letters. Tuskegee lost several key defensive backs that graduated and must be replaced in 2013.


Washington, DC -- The Pigskin Club awarded Coach Willie Slater the "Charles B. Fisher Award" for being named 2012 SIAC Coach of the Year. Derrick Washington, senior running back, was awarded the Oliver M. Thompson Award by the Pigskin Club for being named the 2012 SIAC Player of the Year.

The Golden Tigers received these awards on February 8 in Washington, DC. Congratulations.

Lithonia, GA -- SGT is saddened to report the death of Mr. Jimmy Crum. Many of you may have met Mr. Crum when his son Kenneth (KC) Crum played quarterback at Tuskegee in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

Montgomery, AL -- Tuskegee defeated Alabama State 27-25 in the 89th Turkey Day Classic. The 2012 Golden Tigers team will go down in history as recording the first score and first victory in ASU new $62 million stadium.

Florence, AL -- Tuskegee's running back Derrick Washington has been named a finalist for the 2012 Harlon Hill Trophy awarded to the Most Outstanding football player in Division II.

Washington is one of eight finalist selected from a field of 24 initial candidates. The winner of the 2012 award will be announced at the 27th annual Harlon Hill Trophy Presentation Banquet on Friday, December 14, 2012 (more info).

Atlanta, GA -- The 2012 SIAC All Conference Team was announced today. The SIAC Player of the year honor goes to Tuskegee's Derrick Washington. Washington averaged 139 yards rushing per game and scored 13 touchdowns for the year. Washington was also named SIAC Offensive Player of the Year.

Also earning SIAC First Team honors from Tuskegee include offensive lineman Devonte Jones and Christopher Tolbert; running back Derrick Washington; linebacker Quavon Taylor; and defensive back William Buford.

Atlanta, GA -- Tuskegee won the 2012 SIAC Championship in a 55-24 route of Fort Valley State Univ.  Derrick Washington, Golden Tiger running back, was impressive in the win rushing for 224 yard and scoring 3 touchdowns.

Atlanta, GA -- Two Atlanta police officers died in a helicopter crash last night at approximately 10:30pm. The ADP officers who lost lives were Richard J. Halford of Lithia Springs and Shawn A. Smiley of Lithonia. The offices were looking for a missing Atlanta child when their helicopter crashed.

Richard J. Halford was a former Tuskegee Football Player and attended SGT Homecoming event in 2011, Rest in Peace Golden Boy.

Fairfield, AL -- Tuskegee's Derrick Washington rushed for 208 yard in the Golden Tigers 27-17 win over Miles College. The Golden Tigers clinched the West and will play Fort Valley in the SIAC Championship game.

Fort Valley defeated Albany St 38-29 today to win the SIAC East spot in Championship game. The Golden Tigers defeated Ft Valley 18-49 on September 29 in Tuskegee.

Tuskegee record improves to 8-1 and will meet Ft Valley (8-2) in the SIAC Championship Game at 8 pm on Saturday at Lakewood Stadium in Atlanta.

Atlanta, GA -- The Golden Tigers won their 7th straight game by defeating Clark Atlanta 14-0. Tuskegee's defense, which is top rated in SIAC, recorded their third consecutive shutout during the win streak.

Tuskegee next play Miles College in Birmingham on Nov 3 at 1pm 4 pm CT. The game will determine who will represent the West in the SIAC Championship game, both Tuskegee and Miles are undefeated in the SIAC.

He also stated that he had created a emergency management plan to prepare for major injuries. Finally, he updated the TUNAA breakfast attendees that he had added one EMS worker to assist with medical issues in stands during games.

Tuscaloosa, AL -- The Golden Tigers shutout Stillman 16-0 to tune-up for Homecoming 2012. Tuskegee again took advantage of turnovers as William Buford intercepted a Stillman pass and ran it in for a touchdown. The Golden Tigers defense has been a key factor in last two games and will certainly be poised for a homecoming shutout.

Columbus, GA -- Tuskegee took advantage of five Morehouse turnovers to post a 21-14 win in the 77th Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic.

The Golden Tigers play Stillman College next on CSS Television. The CSS game will be televised this Thursday (10/11/2012) at 6:30 CT. The winner of this game will take over lead in the SIAC West Division, currently both teams have a 3-0 conference record.

Tuskegee, AL -- The 2012 Sage Hall Tailgate Extravaganza will be held on the baseball field inside Cleve Abbott Alumni Bowl. The baseball field is located on the hill behind the student/home side of Alumni Bowl. This is the same location that we hosted our event last year in 2011.

Billy (BP) Pearson, SGT Site Management Captain, visited available spaces, but recommended the baseball field again because of the convenient parking area and the large enough space to enjoy the homecoming experience with friends and family. SGT has secured the best available area to meet our goals in 2012.


Tuskegee, AL -- Golden Tigers cruised to a 17-45 win over Lane College in home opener. Tuskegee scored 42 point in first and held Lane scoreless.

Derrick Washington scored three rushing touchdowns and safety William Buford had 2 interceptions to highlight the victory

Tuskegee's (2-1-0, 1-0-0) next game will be Sat. (9/29) in Alumni Bowl against Fort Valley (2-1-0, 1-0-0) at 1 pm.


Atlanta, GA -- Golden Tigers win Inner City Classic against Johnson C. Smith 17-35 to improve their record to 1-1. Offensively, the Golden Boy rushing game controlled the game. The defense played well again by not allowing any scoring in the second half.

Tuskegee's next game will be Saturday (9/15) in Alumni Bowl against Lane College at 1 pm.


Birmingham, AL -- Ken Woodard, SGT Fundraising and Special Project Captain, presented Roscoe Nance (TUNAA Alumni Chair) with $200 donation to support TU Alumni Labor Day Tailgate Fundraiser. Proceeds from fundraiser will support Non-Revenue Sports at Tuskegee University.

The Skegee Golden Tigers (SGT) dedicates itself to the pursuit of reconnecting our football family through activities that are both fun and meaningful. We are committed to helping current student athletes by providing both financial as well as intellectual support.


Birmingham, AL -- Tuskegee lead at half-time 0-3, but was unable to hold the lead in second half and lose Labor Day Classic 7-6 to Alabama A&M.

The Golden Tigers struggled offensively most of the night, but their inability to score a touchdown with a 1st and goal from A&&&M's 5-yard line highlighted their struggles.

Tuskegee next game will be October 8 against Johnson C Smith at Lakewood Stadium in Atlanta.

Tuskegee, AL  -- Tuskegee has hired a new Sports Information Director, Michael Stewart. Stewart graduated from Langston in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Stewart served as Sports Information Director at his alma mata, Langston University in Oklahoma, and now join Tuskegee's New AD Patrick Simon, who also worked at Langston University.

Stewart replaces Arnold Houston who retired this summer after serving Mother Tuskegee since 1985.


Atlanta, GA  -- Four Golden Tigers have been selected to preseason SIAC Football team.

The Golden Tigers selected are: Gene Stewart Moody - Punter (1st team);  Mark Hughes - Return Specialist (1st team); Adontavius Turner - Defensive Line (2nd Team); and Aaron Bennett - Defensive Line (2nd Team).


Tuskegee, AL -- Patric Simon, former AD at Langston University , has been chosen as Tuskegee's new athletic director.  He will replace Alvin Jackson who had been Tuskegee's AD since February 2010

Simon is a 1977 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina. In 1989, he earned a master's degree from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta.


Tuskegee, AL -- Arnold Houston, Sports Information Director, will be retiring after many years of service at Tuskegee.  Houston earned his Bachelor and Master degree from Tuskegee. SGT Congratulates Mr. Houston.


Atlanta, GA -- Registration for the Second Annual Sage Hall Tailgate Extravaganza is now available at  The date of the event is October 20, 2012 on Tuskegee's homecoming.

There is a early bird registration special this year, but it will end on August 31, 2012.

The primary purpose of the event is to reconnect Tuskegee Football Family.

Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee and Alabama State has reached an agreement to continue to play the Thanksgiving Tradition. The 2012 Turkey Day Classic game will be the inaugural game in Alabama State University new football stadium, which is located on their campus.


Denver, CO -- Tuskegee University running back DeMario Pippen recently signed a free-agent agreement with the Denver Broncos. Pippen played at Jackson State before transferring to Tuskegee to play his senior year. Pippen's hometown is Tuscaloosa, AL.


Sylacauga, AL –- The East Highland High School (EHHS) Alumni Association ceremony, which dedicated a plaque with Coach Scissum likeness, was well organized said Billy Pearson who attended the event

The event was also attended by Coach Scissum family , including his daughter's Karen and Deborah. Also in attendance and representing the Golden Boys were Jay Grimmett and Jeff Cameron.


Tuskegee, AL -- Coach Willie Slater has signed 22 high school and transfers players to booster the Golden Tiger Football program. The incoming Tuskegee players include two linebackers transferring from University of Florida and University of South Florida.


Sylacauga, AL –- Coach Haywood Scissum, Tuskegee's HOF Football Coach,  will be honored on Sunday April 29, 2012 at 3:00PM by The East Highland High School (EHHS) Alumni Association. The event will be held at the Nicholas-Lawson Middle School in Sylacauga, AL.

EHHS Alumni dedication of Scissum Memorial Football Field and Trophy Case honors Coach Scissum who coached EHHS to two Alabama State Football Championships while compiling an overall record of 135-29-11 in 18 years. EHHS was permanently closed in 1970 during school desegregation in Sylacauga.


Tuskegee, AL -- The 2012 Tuskegee Football Schedule was announced today by the Athletics Department.

The Golden Tigers will open the season in Birmingham on September 1 against Alabama A&M.  Homecoming 2012 will be celebrated on October 20, 2012.


Atlanta, GA -- Cleveland Leigh "Cleve" Abbott, Tuskegee Coaching Legend, was honored by The Black College Football Hall of Fame in a Ceremony held in the Atlanta Marriot Marquis. Coach Abbott was one of eleven Inductees into the BCFHOF Class of 2012. Tuskegee's Ken Woodard was in attendance at the Induction Ceremony representing Skegee Golden Tigers (SGT).  Woodard said that he was  honored to be present at the historical event that recognizes HBCU Football.

The Black College Hall of Fame mission is to preserve the legacy of HBCU Football.


Columbus, GA -- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) have announced that Johnson C. Smith University and Miles College have been selected to participate in the 13th Pioneer Bowl.

The game will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at A.J. McClung Stadium in Columbus, GA at 1:00pm (EST).


Montgomery, AL -- Golden Tigers finish season with overall 4-6 record after 21-30 loss to Alabama State University. 

Tuskegee finished the 2011 season ranked third in the SIAC West with a 4-3 record.  The conference wins were over Miles, Fort Valley, Lane and Clark-Atlanta.


Tuskegee, AL -- Skegee Golden Tigers successfully hosted the 1st Annual Sage Hall Tailgate Extravaganza during Homecoming 2011. There were more than fifty former Golden Tiger Football Players in attendance with their families and friends.

The annual event was created to reconnect Golden Tiger Football Family. 

The event is supported by donations from former players and friends, a portion of the donations are used to support Mother Tuskegee.  


Tuskegee, AL -- Golden Tigers record improves to 4-5 after 24-25 win over Miles College on Tuskegee's 86th Homecoming.

Tuskegee next play Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama on Thanksgiving day, November 24, 2011 at 3:00pm.


Tuskegee, AL -- Tuskegee defeats Clark Atlanta 24-3, Golden Tigers improve their record to 3-5.

Tuskegee will host Miles College on Nov 5 as we celebrated out 86th Annual Homecoming.  Miles currently lead the SIAC West with a 5-1 record and look to advance to the inaugural SIAC Championship game.


Tuskegee, AL -- Sage Hall Tailgate Extravaganza to be held on the Tuskegee Baseball field on the home side of stadium. Check-In will start at 11:15 am and the Pre-game meal begins promptly at 11:30 am.

This year 's extravaganza recognizes Tuskegee's 1979 Football team, which is commonly know as the '79 Homecoming Spoilers.  The '79 Golden Boys defeated the defending National Champion Florida A&M 14-13 and also defeated Bethune-Cookman 19-14 to spoil both schools homecomings. The '79 team also defeated a tough Albany State team 13-7. The '79 team was led by Tuskegee Hall of Fame Coach Haywood Scissum.


Frankfort, KY -- Golden Tigers suffer another loss 0-20 to Kentucky State University.

Tuskegee 2-5 will play at home next week against Clark Atlanta which has a 2-6 record. Both teams have wins against Fort Valley and Lane.


Jackson, TN -- Golden Tigers gets 41-17 victory against Lane College.  Tuskegee improves record to 2-4 as they play role of homecoming spoiler.

Next week (10/22/11) Tuskegee travel to play Kentucky State University in Frankfort, Kentucky at 1:00 pm.


Columbus, GA -- Morehouse College posted a  17-14 win over Tuskegee in 76th meeting in Columbus Classic.  The Golden Tigers record drops to 1-4 as they suffer another disappointing loss.

Tuskegee next game is against Lane College in Jackson, TN as they look to spoil homecoming weekend in Jackson.  Lane defeated Albany State 26-24 last week to even their record at 3-3.


Fort Valley, GA -- Tuskegee gets first win of the season after 18-15 win over Fort Valley.  The Golden Tigers improved their SIAC West conference record to 1-1.  Stillman College currently leads the SIAC West with a 3-0 conference record after a 28-17 win today over Lane College.

Next week the Golden Tigers play in the 76th Annual Morehouse-Tuskegee Classic in Columbus, GA at 2 pm CST.

Tuskegee, AL -- Golden Tigers loose home opener to Langston Univ. 33 - 19. Tuskegee suffered its first season-opening loss since 2003. The Golden Tigers hadn't lost a home opener since 1998.

Tuskegee travels to Huntsville, Alabama this weekend to play Alabama A&M in a 6:00 pm match up.


Tuskegee, AL -- Five Golden Boy's to be inducted into to Tuskegee University Hall of Fame on September 23, 2011 at Kellogg Conference Center. The Golden Tiger Football players being inducted are Ulysses Bernard (defensive end/offensive guard); Wallace Brown (wide receiver); Clarence W. Burley Jr. (center);Rev. Johnny. H. Flakes III (return specialist); Charles Tolliver (defensive back).

Nathaniel R. Vivians is also being inducted as a standout golf and tennis player at Tuskegee.
